TC Rides is accepting pre-orders now for our first container of 81 bikes arriving in New Zealand in June 2026. When you order today you're reserving your bike and locking in the presale launch price. Your bike will be delivered to you as soon as it arrives in NZ and clears customs.
Our first container is arriving in New Zealand in June 2026. Once it clears NZ customs, we'll email you with your confirmed delivery date and tracking information. Most NZ deliveries will take place within 5-10 business days of the container arriving.
Two reasons. First, the presale price is our lowest ever — up to $1,200 off RRP. Once the bikes arrive and stock is confirmed, prices move to full RRP. Second, there are only 81 bikes in this first container. Pre-orders are fulfilled first in, first served. If we sell out on presale, the next container takes months to arrive.
Your payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments. TC Rides is a New Zealand business based in New Plymouth. Our container is already on order and the deposit has been paid to our supplier. If for any reason we were unable to fulfil your order you would receive a full refund. Reach us at hello@tcrides.co.nz.
Yes — if you change your mind before your bike is dispatched, contact us at hello@tcrides.co.nz for a full refund. Once your bike has been dispatched our standard returns policy applies.

ABOUT THE BIKES
A fat tyre e-bike is an electric bike fitted with wide, oversized tyres — typically 4 inches or more across. The extra width gives you a smoother, more stable ride on all kinds of surfaces: sealed paths, gravel, grass, sand, and coastal tracks. Add an electric motor, and you've got a bike that handles anything, without breaking a sweat.
Range depends on the model, rider weight, terrain, and motor assist usage. Our V8 Ultra and V8 Pro deliver up to 50km per charge. The Q9 Step Through delivers 50-65km. The GT-2000 delivers 80-100km. Check each product page for model-specific range.
Most TC Rides batteries fully charge in 4-6 hours from flat. We recommend charging overnight so you're always ready to go.
Our V8 Ultra and V8 Pro are factory set to provide motor assistance up to 25km/h — the standard for everyday riding in NZ. The GT-2000 is an off-road model with higher performance capabilities.
Fat tyre e-bikes are heavier than standard road bikes. The V8 range weighs around 35kg, the Q9 Step Through around 45kg, and the GT-2000 around 53kg. The motor more than compensates — most riders forget about the weight within the first five minutes.
A step-through frame has a low or absent top tube, meaning you simply step onto the bike without lifting your leg over a crossbar. It makes mounting and dismounting much easier, especially in work clothes or for riders with limited flexibility. The TC Rides Q9 Step Through uses this design with a full-fat tyre e-bike setup.
Rules & Legal
For e-bikes with a motor up to 300 watts that assist up to 32km/h, no licence or registration is required under NZ law. If you're unsure about the specific model you're purchasing, contact us at hello@tcrides.co.nz and we'll confirm the classification for you.
Yes — helmets are legally required for e-bike riders in NZ. Make sure yours meets NZ standard NZS 2063.
E-bikes can be ridden on shared paths, separated cycle paths, and on the road following the same rules as regular bicycles. E-bikes should not be ridden on footpaths.
Yes — you must use lights between sunset and sunrise and when visibility drops below 100 metres. You need at least one white/yellow front light and one red rear light, visible from 200 metres. Many TC Rides models include integrated lights — check the product listing.
Buying & Delivery
We deliver anywhere in New Zealand. Delivery cost is calculated at checkout based on your location.
For presale orders: bikes are arriving in NZ in June 2026. Once the container clears customs most NZ deliveries take place within 5-10 business days. You'll receive tracking once your bike is dispatched.
Contact us within 48 hours with your order number and photos. We'll sort it — replacement parts or full replacement depending on the situation. We don't leave our customers stranded.

After Your Purchase
Every TC Rides e-bike: 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects including battery, motor, and frame. Normal wear and tear not covered.
